How to find a financial advisor
How to find a financial advisor
You may have decided that you need help with your finances, but you may have questions:
How can I find a financial advisor?
The first part is the easiest bit as if you’re reading this, you have found an independent financial advisor!
I am working to build my businesses presence locally in Tonbridge. You may have found me through Google, a magazine advert, or something like VouchedFor.
How can you tell if they are a good financial advisor?
My view is that the best way to tell is to speak to them and see they respond to what you say and how that makes you feel. I collect reviews through VouchedFor and Google so you can see what others have said about me.
The combination of your gut instinct and reviews should give you a good steer but take your time and do not rush a decision.
What should you ask them?
Are you independent?
It is entirely up to you who you choose to work with. The choices here are independent and restricted. It is important to be clear about what your advisor is able to offer you. You can read more on the differences here.
What do you charge?
Because so much of what an advisor can do is personal to you, it is not always easy to quote a price off the bat. We are transparent about our charges and publish them here.
The bigger question is to be clear in your mind as to what you’re going to get from that charge and then you can assess whether you think it is worth the money. Think about how easy it will be to contact them and how often your plan is reassessed. You can read more about our services here.
The main thing to consider is that any firm that is serious about offering comprehensive, good service will be open about their status and be more than happy to answer any questions you have.
