What does financial advice cost?

How much is advice going to cost, can be one of the first questions I get asked.

Financial advice, done right, is all about you. It’s personal and unique to you, which makes it difficult to quote an accurate price up front.

The way we operate is that there is no charge until we agree what we’re going to do and how we’re going to do it.

A generic guide is below:

Independent Financial Advice Costs

Mortgages – £495 (paid in two tranches) + a commission from the lender

Protection (insurance advice) – no direct fee, we’re paid a commission from the insurers

Pensions, Investments and Annuities – 2% of the sums involved, subject to a minimum of £500 and a maximum of £5,000.

Ongoing fee structure

Full Wealth Management Service – which includes ongoing financial advice and quarterly fund recommendations – 1% of the fund value per annum, subject to a minimum of £500 and a maximum of £10,000.

Financial Planning Service – which includes ongoing financial advice – 0.75% of the fund value per annum, subject to a minimum of £500 and a maximum of £10,000.
